April Water Quality Test Results by the Waterworks Headquarters
Ulsan's tap water has been deemed 'compliant' in all categories of drinking water quality standards.
The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters announced on the 19th that the results of the water quality inspection of Ulsan's tap water in April met the national drinking water quality standards and were at a safe level.
The water quality inspection was conducted at the Hoeya and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants, covering 60 items.
According to the detailed inspection results, four items related to microorganisms, such as general bacteria and total coliforms, and 16 items related to aesthetic substances, such as hardness, odor, taste, color, and turbidity, were all found to be 'not detected, compliant, or below standard levels.'
In addition, 17 items of health-hazardous organic substances, including carbon tetrachloride, were 'not detected,' and all 12 items of health-hazardous inorganic substances, such as ammonia nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen, were either 'not detected or below standard levels.'
Furthermore, 11 items related to disinfectants and disinfection by-products, such as residual chlorine, total trihalomethanes, and chloroform, were also measured as 'not detected or below standard levels.'
Additionally, water quality inspections were conducted on a total of 104 household faucets and 10 old pipe faucets selected based on the water supply population of each district. The results showed that residual chlorine was at an appropriate level and all sites met the water quality standards.
An official from the Waterworks Headquarters stated, "We are doing our best to supply tap water that citizens can safely drink through regular monthly water quality inspections. We will further enhance trust in tap water through meticulous water quality management and transparent disclosure of results."
