Gyeonggi Province conducted the '2024 Contract Review Operation Evaluation' targeting 31 cities and counties within the province, selecting six outstanding institutions including Osan City and Yongin City.
The contract review operation evaluation assesses the overall management of contract reviews to ensure sound and efficient financial administration by local governments. The evaluation scores quantitative indicators such as ▲whether a dedicated internal organization is established ▲number of reviewers ▲appropriateness of review documents ▲strengthening of work capabilities for the 31 cities and counties.
This year, Gyeonggi Province newly introduced deductions for institutions pointed out during contract review compliance inspections and added indicators for strengthening contract review work capabilities (such as conducting internal training and completing specialized education). Differential scores were assigned based on efforts to improve work, ensuring a substantive evaluation.
The evaluation was conducted by dividing the cities and counties into two groups according to their size. In each group, Yongin City and Osan City were selected as the best institutions, Bucheon City and Yangju City as excellent institutions, and Hwaseong City and Icheon City as commendable institutions.
Sung Hyun-sook, Gyeonggi Province Contract Review Officer, stated, "We will award commendations to outstanding cities and counties and promote capacity-building training to secure expertise and compliance inspections to ensure reliability, providing continuous support so that the contract review system can be well operated in each city and county."
