Police Reviewing Application for Arrest Warrant
Last month, it was revealed that Mr. A, a man in his 20s driving a Mercedes-Benz, who fatally struck a delivery worker in his 50s in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident.
On the 16th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that the National Forensic Service conducted a detailed drug test on Mr. A, confirming a positive result for methamphetamine (Philopon).
Mr. A collided with a motorcycle on the road in front of Dangok Intersection in Sillim-dong at around 7:32 p.m. on the 13th of last month. The delivery worker in his 50s who was on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital but died.
The police are reviewing the application for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
On the 15th, Mr. A, who appeared at the police station, reportedly denied the charges, stating that he only accepted a drink given by someone else and did not use drugs himself. No signs of alcohol consumption were found in Mr. A.
