On the 15th, LG Electronics announced that it recently signed a business agreement with Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital for 'discovering robot services for smart hospital life for medical staff and patients and business cooperation.'

Through this agreement, the two parties will gradually proceed with ▲ discovering hospital-specialized robot scenarios and establishing demonstration cases ▲ exploring various robot utilization opportunities and collaboration within domestic and international medical institutions ▲ planning hospital-specialized robot products and system integration cooperation.

The two parties decided to develop various robot services specialized for medical environments, led by the AI Chloe robot. LG Electronics designated Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, which operates one of the largest medical service robot systems in Korea, as an 'LG Electronics Advanced Robot Leading Hospital' to study various robot demonstration cases within the hospital.

In particular, LG Electronics expects the 'LG Chloe ServeBot,' which made its debut at the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition 'CES 2024,' to contribute to streamlining medical services. After CES 2024, LG Electronics is operating the LG Chloe ServeBot in various B2B (business-to-business) sites.

The double-door LG Chloe ServeBot can load up to 30kg of items in its four double-door drawers. It uses antibacterial materials and ventilation fans inside. Equipped with security and locking devices, it prevents theft or loss of transported medicines, specimens, blood, and other items.

It also has stable mobility. Using laser-based LiDAR sensors and cameras, it recognizes surrounding objects, and AI maps the space to navigate complex hospital environments. It autonomously calls hospital elevators and safely boards by recognizing hospital beds or IV stands.

The 10.1-inch touch screen and voice guidance installed on the front provide necessary information to patients and guardians. Using the escort function, it can directly guide users to places like the pharmacy or hospital payment counters.

Since 2020, LG Electronics has supplied Chloe robot solutions to Seoul National University Hospital's Korean outpatient clinic, Ewon Medical Foundation, National Cancer Center, and Yongin Severance Hospital.

No Gyuchan, head of LG Electronics' Robot Business Division, said, "By replacing repetitive tasks such as facility guidance and delivery with the LG Chloe robot, we will improve the efficiency of medical staff's work and provide visitors with differentiated robot medical service experiences."

Yoo Kyungho, director of Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, said, "We hope to develop various scenarios with LG Electronics to increase satisfaction for patients and medical staff, improve the quality of medical services, and become a new standard for medical service robots domestically and internationally."
