"Inviting those born in 2005"... Songpa-gu to hold 'Coming-of-Age Celebration Ceremony' on the 18th

"Inviting those born in 2005"... Songpa-gu to hold 'Coming-of-Age Celebration Ceremony' on the 18th View of Songpa District Office.

Songpa-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is supporting the 2005-born youth taking their first steps into society by providing the Coming-of-Age Start Support Fund, and will hold the "2024 Songpa-gu Coming-of-Age Start Celebration Ceremony" at the district office auditorium on the 18th.


Under the theme "Cheering for a New Beginning of Coming of Age," the ceremony will present the "Coming-of-Age Start Certificate of Congratulations" to two representatives born in 2005, and include a reading of congratulatory messages from senior youth members of the Songpa Youth Network.


A string trio performance by young artists and a special lecture titled "Three Life Shots of a Beginner Adult" by author Lim Hong-taek, who wrote "The 2000-born Are Coming," will also be held. New adults born in 2005, just stepping into adulthood, will have the opportunity to attend a life lecture on how to communicate with the times as they enter society.


Attendance at the ceremony requires registration by indicating participation on the Coming-of-Age Start Support Fund application page, which is currently accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis through the district office website. Songpa-gu, the second most populous district in terms of youth population among Seoul’s 25 autonomous districts, is implementing policies that allow young people to grow and integrate with the local community, including youth job support projects, activation of youth networks and governance, and youth festivals, in addition to the Coming-of-Age Start Support Fund program.


The Songpa Coming-of-Age Start Support Fund is provided as 200,000 KRW worth of mobile Songpa Love Gift Certificates per person. Applications are accepted from the 1st of this month until July 31st, with payments made between June and August depending on the application timing.


District Mayor Seo Gang-seok expressed his congratulations and encouragement, saying, "We support your infinite growth ahead and hope you become mature adults who continuously challenge and achieve your goals."
