Application for booths and others starts from the 20th
The Financial Services Commission announced on the 15th that it will hold the global fintech (finance + technology) expo, "Korea Fintech Week 2024," for three days starting August 27 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Art Hall in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
Last year, Korea Fintech Week 2023 attracted over 11,000 visitors and provided fintech companies with various opportunities for business promotion and investment attraction. Marking its 6th edition this year, Korea Fintech Week 2024 plans to invigorate the fintech industry by hosting the event together with related organizations.
Amid the recent emergence of generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI), led by 'Chat GPT,' as a key challenge for innovation and productivity improvement across all industries, this event will be held under the theme "Opening the Future of Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance."
The exhibition hall will feature booths where fintech companies and financial institutions participate to allow visitors to directly experience innovative and convenient latest financial technologies, offering a variety of attractions. Additionally, ongoing fintech-themed seminars during the event will conduct in-depth discussions sharing insights on global fintech trends such as the adoption and application of the latest AI technologies, financial security, ESG (environment, social, governance), and insurtech.
This year, to support networking among fintech industry stakeholders and provide fintech companies with more active opportunities for business model promotion and investment attraction, a mobile business meeting platform will be introduced, and the investor relations (IR) open stage and networking lounge will be expanded.
Furthermore, investment attraction programs for promising fintech companies will be strengthened, including the Industrial Bank of Korea’s NextRound fintech special round and reverse IR sessions hosted by the entrusted operators of the "Fintech Innovation Fund."
In addition, various programs will be prepared to enhance understanding of the convergence and fusion of AI technology and the financial industry, such as the "Global Talk Concert" featuring domestic and international AI experts discussing fintech and AI, as well as fintech idea contests, financial musicals, mentoring by current fintech professionals, and job counseling.
Meanwhile, starting from the 20th, applications for exhibition booths at Korea Fintech Week 2024 and participation in the 7th Fintech Idea Contest will open. Specific application procedures can be completed through the Korea Fintech Support Center’s operating secretariat.
