"Seeking Solutions to Local Construction Industry Issues"
Continuous Mutual Cooperation to Lead the Development of the Local Construction Industry
Busan Urban Corporation (President Kim Yong-hak) held a meeting on the 9th, inviting the new executive board of the Busan Architects Association under the theme of "Current Issues and Development Directions in Regional Construction."
On this day, Busan Urban Corporation President Kim Yong-hak, Director of Urban Creation Headquarters Lee Sang-yong, new Busan Architects Association President Kang Mi-sook, Vice Presidents Park Dong-jo and Song Se-gi, and other related personnel attended the meeting and discussed the issues in depth, the corporation announced on the 14th.
The two organizations discussed various issues in the regional architectural industry, including ▲ shortage of work due to the regional construction market downturn ▲ measures to prevent safety accidents ▲ construction quality issues ▲ ways to extend the construction life cycle ▲ conflicts over redevelopment and reconstruction construction costs.
Busan Urban Corporation conveyed at the meeting its plan to shorten the scheduled timelines as much as possible for ongoing projects such as the Eco Delta City Blocks 11, 12, 15, and 24 private-participation public housing construction project and the Centum 2 District urban high-tech industrial complex development project to address the shortage of local work caused by the economic downturn.
They emphasized fulfilling the role of public institutions in revitalizing the regional construction market through early groundbreaking and ordering, and requested the cooperation of the Busan Architects Association on technical matters such as design-related consultations necessary to shorten project schedules.
Additionally, Busan Urban Corporation has been operating a digital-based safety management platform in earnest since this year, aiming to reduce the accident rate to less than half of the government average, and proposed joint on-site inspections with the Busan Architects Association to ensure specialized and substantial site inspections at construction sites.
They also discussed countermeasures for problems arising from the short lifespan of apartments, which is around 30 years, due to issues such as floor noise in wall-structure apartments and remodeling difficulties caused by structural wall-bearing walls.
Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, “We will strive to resolve the current issues of the regional construction industry through continuous exchange and communication with the Busan Architects Association,” and added, “We will also create practical cooperation models for improvements in architectural-related systems.”
