The farm was selected by Gyeongnam Nonghyup as a ‘farm with a story,’ and the farm owner, who has difficulty working due to aftereffects from stomach cancer surgery, made this labor support even more meaningful.
In addition to rural labor support, Gyeongnam Nonghyup conducted an agricultural waste collection campaign together with the Korea Rural Community Corporation in accordance with the Gyeongnam Province agricultural waste resource circulation activation agreement signed on April 1.
Head Jo Geun-su said, “As the main farming season begins, many farms are struggling due to labor shortages, so I am glad we could offer some help,” and added, “Gyeongnam Nonghyup will continue to expand labor support and various assistance for elderly and vulnerable farms.”
This year, Gyeongnam Nonghyup plans to support a total of 270,000 people in rural fields during the farming season, operating 22 Rural Workforce Brokerage Centers, running public seasonal labor projects at 3 Nonghyups, signing agreements with 5 probation offices in the area, and organizing university student rural workforce support groups.
