Single-serving 'GoPizza' Monthly Sales of 2 Million Won... GS25 "Try It at 1,000 Stores This Year"

Full-scale franchise expansion starting this week... 250 stores introduced by the end of this month
Daily sales increase up to 20 units... Over 80% of customers are aged 20-30

GS25 plans to expand its GoPizza concept stores to around 1,000 locations by the second half of this year. The company expects the introduction of the GoPizza concept to become a new growth driver for store sales.

GS Retail, which operates the convenience store GS25, announced on the 13th that it will actively promote the GoPizza concept as a new strategic food offering this year. GoPizza is a single-serving pizza specialty franchise that offers pizzas in sizes that are easy to enjoy without the burden of large portions meant for sharing.

GS25 plans to first introduce 70 to 80 GoPizza stores weekly to franchisees, aiming to open 250 stores by the end of this month.

GS Retail and GoPizza launched the 'GS25 X GOPIZZA' project last November to enhance food competitiveness. They tested consumer response and business models through the pilot store GS25 The Gwanak Branch, and from the 1st of this month, they completed final verification by introducing mini ovens and two types of pizza tailored to convenience store characteristics at directly operated stores.

GS25 initially targeted 200 stores for the first half of the year but increased the goal to 250 due to rapid installation requests and overwhelming inquiries from the field. They judged that the competitiveness of GoPizza, a single-serving pizza brand, would be a sales growth driver amid the increase in one- to two-person households and high inflation. Accordingly, GS25 will accelerate franchise expansion, completing 250 stores by the end of this month, increasing to 300 stores in the first half, and up to 1,000 stores in the second half.

Along with the GoPizza rollout, new product launches and discount events will be held. Following the currently sold 'Meat Cheese Pizza (7,900 KRW)' and 'Triple Cheese Pizza (8,500 KRW),' a 'Potato & Bacon Pizza (7,900 KRW)' will be additionally launched on the 15th of this month. Also, during May, a 54% discount will be applied when paying for GoPizza products with a Shinhan Card. With the card discount, Meat Cheese Pizza and Potato & Bacon Pizza can be purchased for 3,630 KRW, and Triple Cheese Pizza for 3,910 KRW.

Meanwhile, stores with GoPizza have shown early success. According to GS25’s sales data from 10 directly operated stores with GoPizza from the 1st to the 10th of this month, an average of 8.4 GoPizza items were sold per store per day. The highest-selling store sold an average of 20.4 pizzas daily. Converted to monthly sales, this translates to an additional average revenue of about 2 million KRW and up to 4.8 million KRW.

Additionally, 26.2% of sales during the sales period came from delivery and pickup, indicating a high proportion. The pizzas can be freshly prepared within 5 minutes after customer orders, enabling O4O (Online for Offline) service integration. The main customer demographics were ▲20s 38%, ▲30s 44%, ▲40s 11%, and ▲others 7%, with customers in their 20s and 30s accounting for over 80%.

GS25 expects that as the number of GoPizza operating stores and products increases, customer awareness and satisfaction will rise, further boosting sales. Lee In-gyu, GS25 Store Improvement Part Manager, said, "Through the newly planned GoPizza concept, we have diversified the sales portfolio of convenience stores. In the future, we will expand side menus such as spaghetti and risotto beyond pizza to provide customers with new experiences and satisfaction."
