Kim Hyo-joo 'Defends Home Turf'... 'Victory in European Tournament' Kim Hyo-joo

On the 12th, at the New Korea Country Club (par 72, 6,496 yards) in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, Kim posted a 4-under-par in the final third round of the Ladies European Tour (LET) Aramco Team Series Korea tournament (total prize money $1 million), securing a commanding 3-stroke victory (10-under-par 206). This marked her first solo victory in an LET-only event. The major championship Evian Championship she won in 2014 was co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and LET.

Starting with a 2-stroke lead, Kim recorded five birdies and one bogey. She maintained her gap from pursuers with 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 5 and 7, and in the back nine, she secured the win early with a birdie on hole 14 (par 4) followed by consecutive birdies on holes 16 and 17. The bogey on the final 18th hole (par 4) did not affect her victory. She held the top spot on the leaderboard throughout the three days for a 'wire-to-wire' win.

Charlie Hull (England) fought hard, shooting 4-under, but failed to clinch the comeback victory, finishing second (7-under-par 209). Cassandra Alexander (South Africa) and Mariajo Uribe (Colombia) tied for third place (5-under-par 211).

In the team event, 'Team Danielle Kang' won with a 23-under-par 265. Starting the first round tied for 11th, Team Danielle Kang staged a comeback in the second round by recording one albatross, two eagles, and nine birdies for an impressive 16-under-par. A total of 36 teams, each composed of three professionals and one amateur, competed for the championship trophy.
