On the 12th, Naju City announced that Mayor Yoon Byung-tae recently visited the homes of 100-year-old Kang Bu-chil (resident of Wanggok-myeon) and 102-year-old Kim Jeom-soon (resident of Gongsan-myeon) to pin carnations on them and wish for their continued health and well-being in celebration of the 52nd Parents' Day this year.


Kang Bu-chil said, "I think the secret to my health is going to the senior center every day to eat and chat," and expressed gratitude to Mayor Yoon Byung-tae and his staff for supporting the smooth operation of the senior center.


Mayor Yoon Byung-tae responded, "Our elders, who possess wisdom and experience, are living witnesses to the history of Naju and are treasures in themselves," adding, "I will do my best to ensure that our elders live healthy and happy lives in their later years."


Meanwhile, on the occasion of the 52nd Parents' Day this year, Naju City awarded mayoral citations to a total of 21 people, including 6 honorable parents and 15 filial exemplars, and visited senior centers in each village to pin carnations and deliver rice cakes and fruits, reaffirming the spirit of respect for the elderly and filial piety.
