Posts About Shin Ramyun on SNS Even After Visiting Korea... "Addiction Level"
Nongshim’s ‘Shin Ramyun’ has recently been recognized as the best ramen by the famous American biweekly magazine New York Magazine, gaining attention overseas. Amid this, the love for Shin Ramyun by the well-known British rapper Central Cee has become a late-breaking topic.
On the 11th, various online communities shared a post titled ‘British Rapper Addicted to Shin Ramyun,’ featuring posts Central Cee had uploaded on his social networking service (SNS), sparking interest.
During his visit to Korea last year, Central Cee’s SNS consistently showed images of him eating Shin Ramyun while watching TV, as well as mixing Shin Ramyun without the broth. It is known that he did not let go of Shin Ramyun wherever he went, whether on the streets, in hotels, or elevators. He was even seen focusing on Shin Ramyun and continuously using chopsticks in what is presumed to be a club.

After returning to the UK, Central Cee has continued to regularly post photos of himself eating Shin Ramyun on SNS. Domestic netizens expressed admiration, saying, “That’s true love,” and “It’s almost an addiction.”
Central Cee debuted in 2015 with ‘Street Heat Freestyle’ and has since stood out through consistent activities, growing into a rapper dominating the UK music market. Last year, he also attracted attention by releasing a collaboration track with Jungkook, a member of BTS.
Meanwhile, Shin Ramyun’s overseas sales (500 billion KRW) surpassed domestic sales (430 billion KRW) for the first time in 2021. As of last year, Shin Ramyun’s domestic sales reached 500 billion KRW (41%), and overseas sales amounted to 710 billion KRW (59%). Accordingly, Nongshim is considering establishing a European sales corporation to strengthen exports. Currently, it operates overseas corporations only in the United States, China, Japan, Australia, and Vietnam.
A Nongshim official stated, “As of the end of last year, Shin Ramyun’s exports to Europe grew by 25% compared to the previous year.”
