Jangheung-gun Successfully Concludes 'National Triathlon Competition'... Praised for Event Management

150 More Participants Than Last Year, 250 Triathletes Compete

County Governor Kim Seong: "We Will Promote Jangheung's Beauty Through National Sports Competitions"

Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it held the "Jeongnamjin Jangheung National Triathlon, the Land Where Unification Begins" at Samsan Embankment in Gwansan-eup.

On this day, 250 triathletes from 15 metropolitan local governments nationwide participated. Hosted and organized by the Jangheung-gun Triathlon Association, this event saw about 150 more participants than last year, making it a great success.

The organizers believe that the increase in participants is due to word of mouth about the comfortable and safe competition environment and the beautiful natural scenery for triathletes nationwide.

The competition consisted of a course with 1.5 km swimming, 42 km cycling, and 10 km running. Triathlon, which has more than twice the risk of safety accidents compared to a full marathon, always carries the risk of accidents.

The Jangheung-gun Triathlon Association and Jangheung-gun prepared for the event through several consultations and on-site preliminary inspections to ensure a safe competition.

County Governor Kim Seong said, “I am pleased that many athletes completed the race along the beautiful sea of Jeongnamjin Jangheung,” adding, “I hope more people will experience the beauty of Jangheung through various competitions in the future.”
