According to the legal community on the 11th, the Busan High Prosecutors' Office is investigating Chief Prosecutor A on suspicions of violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Tax Offenses Punishment Act, and the Public Officials Ethics Act.

If the investigation finds substance to the allegations during the process, a full-scale inspection or investigation will proceed.

The Supreme Prosecutors' Office assigned the case to the Busan High Prosecutors' Office in January.

Chief Prosecutor A is suspected of providing money or entertainment to a national tax investigator through his brother-in-law to reduce inheritance tax after a tax investigation was conducted on his wife and other heirs following the death of his father-in-law in 2021.

He is also suspected of violating the Public Officials Ethics Act by omitting or falsely reporting assets received as gifts from his father-in-law during the public official asset registration.
