Russian forces attempted to advance across the border toward Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city.
Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, stated in a morning statement on the 10th (local time) that Russian forces tried to cross the border while intensifying shelling in the northern border area of Kharkiv but were repelled.
According to Governor Syniehubov, since the previous night, Russian forces have concentrated attacks on Kharkiv city and nearby Derhachi, Kupiansk, and Bohodukhiv using missiles, mortars, and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Russian sabotage special forces also attempted to breach the border.
The airstrike on that day resulted in the death of one civilian male and damage to dozens of private homes. Governor Syniehubov emphasized, "The Ukrainian forces are holding their positions without retreating even 1 meter, and the enemy does not pose a threat to Kharkiv." He also urged civilians residing in the border area to move to shelters.
