Park Gang-su, the mayor of Mapo District, is famous for his superhuman activity, walking more than 15,000 steps a day and handling an average of about 25 schedules.

‘Hongdae Red Road,’ an idea created by Mayor Park Gang-su to revive the Hongdae commercial district, which had almost become a ruin due to COVID-19, has emerged as a premium street representing Seoul and has become the most visited street by foreign tourists.

Park Gang-su, a former entrepreneur and an outstanding idea man who once held about 60 patents, is receiving praise for Hongdae Red Road, a brilliant move that is revitalizing the Hongdae commercial district and serving as a catalyst for Seoul’s commercial areas.

The safe street lamps on Hongdae Red Road, sponsored by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, have become another famous feature of Hongdae Red Road.

Since taking office in the 8th term of local government, Mayor Park Gang-su has risen as a nationwide leading local government head by creating the ‘Hongdae Red Road’ and the ‘Filial Piety Meal’ for the elderly.

Among these, the Filial Piety Meal was praised by President Yoon Suk-yeol at a national policy briefing, becoming a nationwide benchmarking project.

Ultimately, it highlights the importance of ideas in administration.

At such an important event, the Mapo District Public Relations Department, including Manager Song In-su, Team Leader Lee Ki-yeon, and Officer Ahn Ju-hyun, visited the site to support coverage and enthusiastically prepared press releases.
