Geumcheon-gu Receives Highest Grade for Four Consecutive Years in Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation

Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 10th that it received the highest grade (SA) in the evaluation of the implementation plans for the pledges of the 8th local government heads conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.

The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation and information disclosure of the pledges of local government heads nationwide for about 90 days starting from February this year. The headquarters analyzed that Geumcheon-gu completed 27 out of a total of 63 pledges, and including those in progress, the overall pledge implementation rate is 73%.

The district has been striving to enhance transparency and democracy regarding pledge implementation. The entire process of pledge implementation is disclosed quarterly on the official website, and the implementation status is managed according to residents' intentions through the 'Resident Jury' system.

Additionally, from the pledge confirmation stage, guidelines for establishing pledge implementation plans have been prepared, and administrative support has been strengthened by subdividing management plan procedures. The Practice Headquarters comprehensively evaluates five areas including completed pledge implementation, 2023 goal achievement, and resident communication, awarding the highest grade 'SA' to top local governments, followed by four sequential grades below.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon stated, "Pledges are promises to residents and one of the most important values in carrying out district administration," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the pledges are properly implemented according to the residents' wishes."
