Oldest Skydiver, 106-Year-Old Man, "Turn Your Thoughts into Actions"

World's Oldest Skydiver Record Broken

Alfred Bleschke, a 106-year-old man born during World War I, recently succeeded in skydiving. Already one of the longest-lived people in the world, he also claimed the title of 'World's Oldest Skydiver.'

On the 9th (local time), the World Guinness Book of Records announced that Bleschke had succeeded in breaking the record for the 'World's Oldest Skydiver.' Born in 1917, one year before the end of World War I, he was 106 years and 328 days old as of the 10th.

The aircraft from which Bleschke jumped was flying at an altitude of about 4.2 km. Wearing parachute equipment, he jumped immediately after the plane door opened, braving the strong wind, successfully deployed his parachute, and landed safely on the ground. This process was fully recorded by cameras provided by the Guinness Book.

This was not Bleschke’s first skydiving challenge. He had previously succeeded in skydiving in 2020. At that time, he also earned the title of the world's oldest skydiver, but this record was later taken by a 103-year-old female diver from Sweden. After three years, he reclaimed the champion position.

In fact, this skydiving attempt was originally scheduled for November last year. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the schedule had to be postponed. Several other variables caused the schedule to be delayed three more times, and finally, Bleschke’s skydiving was barely able to take place on the 9th.

On the day Bleschke jumped from the plane, his children, grandchildren, and even government officials from Texas attended. Texas Governor Greg Abbott was also present. After Bleschke landed on the ground, Governor Abbott shook his hand and took commemorative photos with him.

Bleschke told the Guinness Book, "If you think you cannot accomplish something, you are underestimating your true strength," adding, "Everyone can exert more power than they think. You just have to turn your thoughts into action."
