An man in his 80s who wielded a weapon in an apartment in Seoul, causing 2 casualties, has been arrested.
On the afternoon of the 9th, Shin Young-hee, the judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, held a pre-arrest detention hearing for Choi, a man in his 80s, on murder charges and issued an arrest warrant, stating there is "a risk of flight."
It is known that Choi expressed his intention to forgo appearing at the court hearing.
Choi is accused of wielding a weapon against a woman in her 50s, Ms. A, and her son, Mr. B, at an apartment in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 8 a.m. on the 7th.
Ms. A was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away. Mr. B was also taken to the hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Choi surrendered himself to a nearby police station immediately after the incident and was arrested on the spot. The police confirmed that Choi and Ms. A were involved in a civil lawsuit and are investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
