National Singing Contest Returns to Gimhae After 5 Years... Special Stage at Sureungwon on the 28th

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that the ‘KBS National Singing Contest’ will be held on the 28th at a special stage within Sureungwon.

According to the city, the National Singing Contest is visiting Gimhae for the first time in five years since 2019.

The contest on this day will be held to wish for the successful hosting of the 105th National Sports Festival and the National Para Games, which will take place in October.

Invited singers including MC Nam Hee-seok, and singers from Gimhae such as Eun Ga-eun, Jo Hang-jo, Yoon Soo-hyun, Ryu Ji-kwang, and Jung Da-kyung will perform on stage.

Citizens who wish to participate in the singing contest can apply at the administrative welfare centers in their respective eup, myeon, or dong from the 10th to the 20th of this month, and the preliminary round will be held on the 26th at 1 p.m. at the Nuri Hall of Gimhae Culture and Arts Center.

About 15 teams who pass the preliminary round will compete in the final contest on the 28th to determine the winners of awards including the grand prize.

Mayor Hong Tae-yong said, “I expect this National Singing Contest to contribute to creating a festive atmosphere in Gimhae in 2024, the year of hosting the two major sports events and the Year of Visiting Gimhae,” adding, “I hope many citizens will freely showcase their talents and skills that they have not been able to display so far.”
