"Legal action will be taken as soon as the identity is revealed"
A post threatening the safety of group IVE's Jang Wonyoung has been made, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 9th, the agency Starship Entertainment stated through an official social media (SNS) account, "A post threatening Jang Wonyoung's safety appeared on an online community the day before."
They added, "A report regarding the post specifying the date and time of the crime has been filed with the police agency," and explained, "We have requested a prompt investigation and protection for the artist's safety. Legal action will be taken as soon as the identity is revealed."
Starship emphasized, "To protect our artists' safety, we are strengthening professional security personnel and rechecking the security of artists' movement routes, office buildings, and accommodations," and stated, "We will continue to enhance monitoring of all acts threatening our artists' safety and will respond strongly with legal measures immediately upon discovery."
IVE released 'IVE SWITCH' last month and is currently promoting the title track 'AYA.'
Previously, Starship took strong legal action against malicious commenters by obtaining information about the YouTube channel operator 'Taldeok Suyongso' from Google headquarters through a U.S. court last year. Based on this information, Jang Wonyoung and Starship each filed civil lawsuits against the operator, Park Mo. In January, a domestic court ruled in favor of Jang Wonyoung in the damages claim lawsuit against Park.
