Glocal Future Education Expo, 2023 Future Classroom 'Open'

As the '2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo' approaches D-20, high interest continues as the 2023 future classroom is revealed.

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 9th that it has pre-established and unveiled the 'Glocal Future Classroom,' the core content of the '2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo,' at two locations: Yeosu Education Support Office Gifted Education Center and Mokpo Creative Convergence Education Center.

The pre-established future classroom is a model that encapsulates the direction of the six 'Glocal Future Classrooms' to be showcased at the expo on the 29th.

At the center front of the pre-future classroom stands a large electronic blackboard for viewing class materials, and robots roam around the classroom to assist learning support. The classroom space is arranged in groups to enable active discussion, communication, and collaboration among students, and a one-person-one-media utilization environment has been created.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "The future school that humanity has long imagined is now realized right before our eyes. A major feature is the ability to provide customized support for individual learning. While typical classroom environments make it difficult to conduct lessons tailored to each student, the future classroom enables level-based learning activities through AI-based learning analysis."

The newly established future classroom will conduct 2030 future lessons according to the schedule by school level and can be used through prior consultation and reservation. Additionally, even after the expo concludes, it will be actively utilized as a venue for future classroom lesson demonstrations and teacher training.

The Office of Education plans to establish and expand the future classrooms in Yeosu and Mokpo as models of 'Glocal Classrooms' through continuous inspection and supplementation processes.

The '2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo' will be held for five days from the 29th to the 2nd of next month at the Yeosu World Expo Center, with a total of 59 hours of classes. The class themes are fourfold: global citizenship (multicultural), digital, regional linkage, and ecological transition.
