On the 10th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they will deploy a criminal psychological analyst (profiler) to administer various psychological tests, including a psychopathy diagnosis, to Choi. The test aims to analyze Choi's psychological state and tendencies before and after the crime.
However, since the test requires Choi's consent, the profilers must first visit him to ask for permission. If he agrees, they will conduct various interviews and proceed with the tests. In the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCR-P), a score of 25 or higher out of 40 classifies an individual as a psychopath. In the past, serial killer Kang Ho-soon scored 27, and Lee Eun-hae, involved in the "Valley Murder Case," scored 31.
Choi is suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station around 5 p.m. on the 6th after she informed him of their breakup. Choi is known to have scored a perfect score on the College Scholastic Ability Test and is currently attending a medical school in Seoul.
Police investigations revealed that Choi planned the crime in advance, including purchasing the weapon at a large supermarket in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. During the pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing), Choi reportedly claimed that while the crime was planned, it was not planned for a long time.
