The Korea Rural Community Corporation Haenam-Wando Branch (Branch Manager Kim Taeheon) announced on the 9th that it held the ‘1st Operations Delegates Meeting and Water Management Field Briefing’ in the branch conference room.
At the meeting attended by the 11th appointed operations delegates and hydraulic facility monitors, the main tasks of the Korea Rural Community Corporation were shared, along with explanations of the current status of hydraulic facilities and key projects of the Haenam-Wando Branch. Discussions were held on flood damage prevention measures in preparation for recent abnormal rainfall and emergency reservoir response drills assuming earthquake occurrences.

In the following farmland bank project briefing, detailed explanations were given on the farmland transfer retirement payment project, which the corporation has been focusing on this year, and discussions were held on ways to encourage active participation of elderly farmers in the project.
There were also suggestions from the operations delegates that policy improvements are needed in the farmland bank project, currently promoted mainly for young farmers, to ensure that middle-aged farmers such as existing rice-specialized farmers are not marginalized.
The 11th operations delegates pledged active cooperation for the smooth promotion of maintenance and farmland bank projects led by the Haenam-Wando Branch, as well as for securing additional government project budgets.
All hydraulic facility monitors expressed their gratitude for the corporation’s role as a water management specialized institution, doing their best to ensure safe farming for farmers during the water management field briefing.
Kim Taeheon, Branch Manager of Haenam-Wando, said, “Based on mutual trust, we will do our best to actively seek solutions to the suggestions of the operations delegates and to ensure smooth supply of agricultural water,” adding, “We ask for multifaceted promotion regarding water-saving cooperation from hydraulic facility monitors and local farmers, as well as management of restricted reservoir water levels during the flood season.”
