Victory Confirmed Without Runoff Election
Chu Kyung-ho, a member of the People Power Party (Daegu Dalseong·3rd term), was elected as the new floor leader of the party on the 9th.
Chu secured a majority with 70 votes in the People Power Party's floor leader election held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, in the afternoon, confirming his victory without a runoff.
Out of 108 People Power Party members elected to the 22nd National Assembly, 102 participated in the vote.
His competitors, Lee Jong-bae (Chungbuk Chungju·4th term) and Song Seok-jun (Gyeonggi Icheon·3rd term), received 21 and 11 votes respectively, falling short.
On the 8th, Choo Kyung-ho, a member of the People Power Party, is delivering a policy speech at the policy presentation meeting held at the National Assembly for the election of the floor leader. The People Power Party floor leader election, with candidates including Lee Jong-bae (4th term, Chungbuk Chungju), Choo Kyung-ho (3rd term, Daegu Dalseong), and Song Seok-jun (3rd term, Gyeonggi Icheon), will be held on the 9th.
