YouTuber Wielding a Weapon in Front of Busan District Court Says "Sad I Can't See the Sea" After Arrest

"Could Not Forgive Those Who Tried to Shatter Others' Happiness"

A YouTuber in his 50s stabbed and killed another YouTuber, who was involved in a legal dispute, in front of a courthouse.


On the 9th, the police and Yonhap News reported that at around 9:52 a.m., YouTuber A, in his 50s, stabbed and killed YouTuber B, also in his 50s, in front of the legal town area in Yeonje-gu, Busan. The legal town where the incident occurred is located across from the Busan District Court and Busan District Prosecutor's Office, and is an area densely populated with lawyers' and judicial scriveners' offices. The victim, B, was attacked near the crosswalk connecting this legal town and the Busan District Court.

At the time of the incident, B had visited the Busan District Court for a court-related schedule and was conducting a YouTube live broadcast afterward. The incident is understood to have occurred amid mutual accusations and ongoing legal disputes between the operators of the YouTube accounts. After the crime, A fled by car but was apprehended at around 11:35 a.m., approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes after the incident.

Immediately after the crime, A posted on his YouTube channel, "I apologize to my subscribers who have cared for and supported me all this time. However, I could not forgive someone who tried to destroy another's happiness. I will not make excuses. I will take responsibility for my actions."


Even after being apprehended, he left a message saying, "This is my final farewell. I was caught in Gyeongju. I regret not seeing the sea. Thank you all for everything." He also replied to comments from netizens on the post with, "Thank you. Stay healthy, everyone."


Meanwhile, the police are transferring A to the Yeonje Police Station and plan to investigate the specific motive and circumstances of the crime.
