Smart car software (SW) platform company Obigo announced on the 9th that it has been selected for the national project "Development of Core Technologies for SW Computing Industry," organized by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) under the Ministry of Science and ICT.
This project is related to the development of SW technology for pioneering the global market, and Obigo has been selected as the lead research and development institution for the project. The research period is until December 2025. The total project scale is 1.4 billion KRW.
Obigo explained that upon successful completion of this project, its position in the global software-defined vehicle (SDV) market will be further strengthened. In addition, it plans to enhance its SW technology capabilities for global expansion of the SW platform currently supplied to domestic automakers and for pioneering overseas markets.
An Obigo official stated, “The automotive industry is already rapidly shifting from hardware-centered to software-centered,” and emphasized, “Through this project, we will strengthen the competitiveness of our smart car SW platform and secure competitiveness in the global SDV market by developing a personalized mobility platform.”
