Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 9th that it will additionally recruit applicants for the slate removal and roof improvement support project until the budget is exhausted to prevent health damage to residents caused by asbestos, a Group 1 carcinogen.
Since February, the county has secured a budget of 1,283.28 million KRW through the 'Slate Disposal Project' to support slate removal and roof improvement.
As of this month, applications have been submitted for 121 residential buildings, 65 non-residential buildings, and 35 roof improvements. The total number of additional applications for this recruitment is 98 buildings and may be adjusted within the budget range.
This year, up to 7 million KRW per residential building will be supported in the demolition and disposal sector. For non-residential buildings, full support is provided for slate areas up to 200㎡. In the roof improvement sector, priority support households will receive up to 10 million KRW per building, while general households will be supported up to a maximum of 5 million KRW.
However, slate buildings that have previously received support from this project are not eligible for duplicate support.
Applications can be submitted at the administrative welfare centers of the town or township where the building is located until September 30. For more details, please refer to the notices/announcements on the county office website or contact the Environmental Sanitation Division.
