According to the Yeouido Police Substation of the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul on the 9th, Sergeant Kim Beom-su (32), who belongs to this substation, fell into the river together after grabbing the hand of a teenage girl, A, who was hanging from the railing of Mapo Bridge at around 7:30 p.m. the previous day.
Both were immediately rescued by a 119 rescue boat and a patrol boat from the Han River Police Unit. It was confirmed that there were no serious injuries or life-threatening conditions.
The police responded to a report at 7:24 p.m. that day stating "a woman is hanging from the railing." At the time, A was being held by a passerby, and about 10 police officers, including Sergeant Kim, arrived and carried out the rescue operation.
