"Wishing You Longevity and Health"... Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Implements '100-Year Longevity Village Certification Project'

Proving Nuclear Safety for a "Healthy 100-Year Era" in the Donggyeongju Region

KHNP Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters conducted the ‘100-Year-Old Longevity Village Certification Project’ targeting centenarians in the Donggyeongju area.

The 100-Year-Old Longevity Village Certification Project is a resident-experience type headquarters-led initiative that proves the safety of nuclear power plants through the health of local residents. It is the first project of its kind discovered and implemented by the Wolseong Headquarters among nuclear power headquarters.

Kim Han-seong, head of the Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters, is extending congratulations to elder Kim Seong-suk, who is celebrating her 100th birthday this year.

The certification project candidates were selected as 12 centenarians born in 1925 or earlier, confirmed to be currently residing in the area, by collecting basic data with the cooperation of the administrative welfare centers of three towns and townships in Donggyeongju and verifying actual residence through village chiefs.

From the 3rd to the 14th of this month, Wolseong Headquarters visited the centenarians living in the Donggyeongju area to personally deliver certification plaques and appreciation gifts, and supported village feasts in their residential villages.

Additionally, on the 7th, Director Kim Han-seong personally visited Seokchon-ri, Yangnam-myeon, to offer congratulations and gifts to the centenarians. Grandmother Kim Seong-sook, residing in Seokchon-ri, was born in 1925 and turned 100 this year.

Kim Han-seong, Director of Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “Congratulations on reaching a healthy 100 years of life. I hope you continue to live healthily and happily together with Wolseong Headquarters,” and added, “We will continuously strive for Donggyeongju, the foundation of healthy lives for local residents.”

Wolseong Headquarters expects this project to serve as a good example proving the health safety of residents around the power plant and plans to continue various efforts to coexist with local residents.
