Former Chief Justice Yang Seung-tae, who was acquitted in the first trial after being indicted on suspicions of 'judicial farming,' will begin working as a lawyer.
On the 8th, the Korean Bar Association (KBA) held a registration review committee meeting and approved the registration of former Chief Justice Yang as a lawyer.
Accordingly, former Chief Justice Yang is scheduled to work as an advisory lawyer at the law firm Class Hangyeol.
Former Chief Justice Yang, who was indicted in February 2019 on suspicions related to judicial farming, was acquitted of all charges in the first trial on January 1 of this year, nearly 4 years and 11 months after the indictment. The prosecution has appealed, and the second trial is expected to be held at the Seoul High Court.
Former Supreme Court Justices Park Byeong-dae and Go Young-han, who were indicted alongside former Chief Justice Yang, were judged by the KBA in 2020, during the first trial, to have no disqualifications and are currently practicing as lawyers.
