Geumcheon-gu Honors 12 Filial Exemplars and Distinguished Parents on the 52nd Parents' Day Ceremony

Award Ceremony Held on May 8 at 4 PM in Geumcheon-gu Office Small Conference Room
Commendations Presented to 11 Filial Exemplars and 1 Honored Parent, Total 12 Recipients

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) awarded commendations from the Geumcheon-gu Office to 12 exemplary contributors, including 'Filial Exemplars' and 'Honorable Parents,' on May 8th in celebration of the 52nd Parents' Day.

Residents who were recommended by the community service centers, welfare centers, and the Senior and Disabled Division of the district office for their devoted care of parents and children and for creating harmonious families that serve as role models in the neighborhood were selected.

The Filial Exemplars commendation was awarded to 11 individuals: Yoon Ga-im (Gasan-dong), Park Kyung-hee (Doksan 2-dong), Kim Jae-yeop (Doksan 3-dong), Kim Ki-man (Doksan 4-dong), Kim Yeon-gyeong (Siheung 1-dong), Yang Kyung-sook (Siheung 2-dong), Lee Ae-kyung (Siheung 3-dong), Kim Hye-kyung (Siheung 4-dong), Park Hae-kyung (Siheung 5-dong), Shin Mi-ja (Siheung 5-dong), and Kim Sang-yeon (Geumcheon Senior Welfare Center). The Honorable Parent commendation was awarded to Lee Kyung-sook (Geumcheon Senior Welfare Center).

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I express my respect and gratitude to the elders who have made today possible by building healthy families through self-sacrifice. I hope that the dedication of these contributors, who have practiced filial piety toward their elders and raised their children properly despite difficult circumstances, will be widely recognized and serve as an opportunity to reflect on true family love.”
