Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 8th that it recently held the '2024 Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection Preparation Status Report Meeting.'
Presided over by Vice Mayor Ahn Sang-hyun, the meeting was held at the city's disaster safety situation room and involved 12 departments including the Safety and Disaster Division, Tourism Division, and Construction Division, which reported inspection plans and discussed safety inspection measures.
The intensive safety inspection aims to check the overall safety management status of society, including the pre-removal of risk factors in facilities closely related to residents' lives, and will be conducted until the 21st of next month.
The inspection targets a total of 94 facilities, including landslide risk areas, bridges, children's play facilities (amusement facilities, kids cafes, playgrounds, etc.), medical institutions, and traditional markets.
For facilities that are difficult to access with personnel and equipment, cutting-edge devices such as drones and thermal imaging cameras will be used to ensure the safety of inspectors and improve inspection accuracy.
Minor issues found during inspections will be immediately corrected, and facilities with identified risk factors will undergo detailed safety diagnoses, repairs, and reinforcements, with thorough periodic history management until the risks are resolved.
Vice Mayor Ahn Sang-hyun said, “Substantial inspections must be conducted by actively utilizing professional personnel on site and using advanced equipment as needed. For facilities where disasters are likely to occur, thorough post-history management should be carried out to protect residents' lives and property, and we ask for the best efforts in inspections.”
