Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, expressed his gratitude by pinning carnations on the elderly who visited the Silver Restaurant at the district office on the morning of the 8th in celebration of Parents' Day.
In particular, the carnations used that day were made directly by members of the volunteer group ‘Sonkkarak (樂) Volunteer Group,’ affiliated with the Yangcheon-gu Volunteer Center, through three months of talent donation, adding special meaning.
A total of 1,500 carnations were produced for this Parents' Day event and will be delivered to welfare institutions in the region.
Since 2003, the district’s ‘Hyo Dream Carnation’ project, now in its 22nd year, has contributed to honoring the deep love and devotion of parents and spreading a culture of filial piety sharing in the local community.
Additionally, on the same day, Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, attended the ‘52nd Parents' Day Commemoration Award Ceremony’ held at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center, where he presented awards to 26 meritorious individuals, including those recognized for filial piety and distinguished parents who contributed to promoting respect for the elderly and elderly welfare, expressing his gratitude.
Mayor Lee Gijae of Yangcheon-gu said, “I deeply appreciate the infinite love and dedication of parents, and I will continue to implement diverse senior-friendly policies so that our elderly can enjoy a happy later life.”
