On this day, the Hoesong-dong Residents’ Autonomy Committee in Masanhwoewon-gu held a senior citizens’ celebration at Dangsan Children's Park, hosting about 300 local seniors and invited guests.
The event saw participation from all Hoesong-dong organizations, including the Residents’ Autonomy Committee, Tongwoo Association, Saemaeul Association and Women’s Association, and Baruge Salgi, who personally prepared food and served the seniors, expressing respect and gratitude.
Starting with the lively Samulnori performance by the Hoesong-dong Pungmul Troupe, the event featured a choir by the Residents’ Autonomy Center’s singing class members, a Gogo Janggu performance, and accordion music by local residents, delighting the eyes and ears of the attending seniors with a rich variety of performances.
A senior who attended the event said, “I am happy that such a joyful celebration is held on Parents' Day,” and added, “It was a pleasant time enjoying the carefully prepared food and the lively performances.”
Mayor Hong said, “I express my gratitude for the dedication and hard work for the development of the Republic of Korea, and in return, I will work hard to promote the development of Changwon City and implement policies that make citizens happy.”
