Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu is signing an ‘Investment Attraction MOU’ contract with Ba Don City, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam, an international sister city, and is embarking on building a ‘strategic economic partnership.’
The ‘Ba Don City Official Delegation,’ consisting of four members including Doan Minh Tho, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Don City, Cao Xuan Duc, Head of the Party Propaganda Department, and Le Minh Hien, Director of the People’s Committee Office, will visit Buk-gu for two days from the 9th to the 10th to promote international exchange and friendship.
This visit is a reciprocal visit arranged to materialize various matters discussed as mutual development plans between the two cities such as smart farms, solar power, and tourism during Buk-gu’s official delegation visit to Ba Don City in April last year.
Accordingly, Buk-gu successfully matched promising local smart farm companies with international competitiveness in smart farming technology with Ba Don City’s investment attraction through continuous networking with companies in related fields.
On the first day of the exchange (the 9th), the Ba Don City official delegation will directly observe the excellence of advanced farming methods through a smart farm site tour, attend an official welcoming event held at Buk-gu Office, and then sign a ‘$500,000 investment attraction MOU contract’ with promising smart farm companies.
Buk-gu expects this contract to have a twofold effect: contributing to increased residents’ income and urban development in Ba Don City through smart farming profits, and opening overseas markets for Buk-gu’s local companies.
On the second day of the exchange (the 10th), the delegation will visit Gwangju Lake Ecological Park, one of the eight scenic spots of Buk-gu, experience tourism programs, and conclude the official exchange schedule with a farewell from Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, and the Buk-gu welcoming delegation.
