Cheongsong-gun Promotes Information and Communication Assistive Device Distribution Project to Bridge Information Gap for Disabled People

Application for Support of Assistive ICT Devices for Disabled Persons Until June 21

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is recruiting applicants until June 21 for the "2024 Information and Communication Assistive Devices Distribution Project" to bridge the information gap for people with disabilities and national veterans who have been assessed with disabilities and face difficulties accessing and using information and communication due to physical and economic conditions.

This project is supported by the government to reduce the information gap and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities by distributing high-priced information and communication assistive devices at affordable prices. Eligible applicants are those registered as disabled under the Disability Welfare Act and national veterans with disability ratings residing in Cheongsong-gun.


Applicants will be finally selected after screening, and up to 80% of the assistive device product price will be supported. Among the selected, basic livelihood security recipients and low-income groups facing financial difficulties will receive additional support covering up to 50% of their own expenses.


A total of 143 items will be distributed, including 72 items such as reading magnifiers and optical character readers for the visually impaired, 23 items such as special keyboards and special mice for people with physical and brain lesions disabilities, and 48 items such as video phones and communication assistive devices for the hearing and speech impaired. To apply, applicants should confirm the suitable product for themselves through the information and communication assistive devices consultation phone, then apply online or visit the nearest eup/myeon office with the required documents, or send the application by mail to the Information Control Team of the Communication and Public Relations Division at Cheongsong-gun Office. If applying by mail, the application must arrive by the deadline.


Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, "We will continue to implement various policies to bridge the information gap for marginalized groups," and added, "We hope many people apply and receive support for assistive devices."
