Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) Academic Information Center held the '2024 DIT Academic Electronic Information Expo' on April 30th at Arete Hall on the 3rd floor of the Information Building on campus, where various digital contents such as e-books, audiobooks, e-magazines, and academic papers could be experienced in one place.
This expo, held face-to-face for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic, was organized to stimulate students' interest and curiosity in electronic information resources and to encourage active use in academic activities and leisure through demonstrations and hands-on events of various electronic materials.
At the expo, eight electronic resource companies including Infotech, Teratech, Aram Media, Raon Story, Moajin, Nuri Media, Korea Academic Information, and Korea Social Science Data Center operated experience booths, where participating students had the opportunity to try various electronic resources along with detailed explanations of the electronic materials and dedicated devices prepared by the companies.
Additionally, participants who visited and collected stamps from four or more experience booths were entered into a raffle to win generous prizes such as AirPods Pro, Galaxy Watch and Buds, Bluetooth speakers and keyboards, Stanley tumblers, and cultural gift certificates worth 300,000 KRW.
Jeong Moon-gyeong, a student from the Department of Medical Skin Beauty, said, “It was beneficial to learn useful knowledge and ways to utilize unfamiliar electronic information resources, such as being able to access various academic materials, papers, and audiobooks narrated by professional voice actors for free through the university library.”
Lee Sang-hak, Director of the Academic Information Center, emphasized, “Although the development of digital technology has diversified the channels to access various information including e-books, students are not fully aware of them due to lack of promotion and low accessibility. We will continue to plan various programs and activate library usage education to enhance students’ ability to utilize electronic information.”
