Naver D2SF Makes New Investment in Image Generation AI Startup 'NXN Labs'

Naver's startup nurturing organization D2SF announced on the 8th that it has made a new investment in the image generation artificial intelligence (AI) startup 'NXN Labs.'

NXN Labs is a case that succeeded in securing its first investment just two months after its incorporation, and Naver D2SF made the investment focusing on the technological value and potential. KB Investment and Smilegate Investment jointly participated in this investment.

NXN Labs is developing an image generation AI model specialized for e-commerce that can be used for ▲virtual fitting ▲virtual model creation, among others. Targeting the fashion industry, it is preparing a solution that easily generates high-quality images while preserving the brand's design characteristics. In particular, based on its self-built dataset, NXN Labs not only precisely implements design patterns and model body shapes but also provides attractive images with high resolution.

Currently, NXN Labs is conducting proof of concept (PoC) projects with fashion brands and domestic e-commerce platforms using its self-developed model to check usability. Positive feedback has been confirmed regarding the quality of generated images, and this year, it plans to actively start building references and cooperation mainly in the domestic and international e-commerce and advertising industries. The company is advancing related technologies to launch a commercial solution in North America by 2025.

NXN Labs is an early-stage startup founded in December last year, with a team equipped with capabilities ranging from diffusion model technology development to overseas business development. CEO Jaewon Lee majored in computer science at Stanford and has a high understanding of the overall market through experience at McKinsey and SoftBank Ventures. CTO Rina Hong also majored in cognitive science at Stanford and participated in research and product development as a member of the Copilot team in the generative AI department at Microsoft (MS) headquarters.
