Front Dual-Line Grille and 27-Inch Large Display Applied
Expanded Options for 2-Wheel and 4-Wheel Drive
Hyundai Motor Company's premium brand Genesis has revamped its mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV), the GV70. The front grille has been refined with greater precision, and a trendy large display has been installed inside.
Genesis announced on the 8th that it will launch the facelifted GV70 model. About three years after its initial release in December 2020, the interior and exterior have been updated based on Genesis's design philosophy of 'dynamic elegance.'
The front features a crest grille refined with a dual mesh structure. The signature two-line headlamps of Genesis are equipped with MLA technology, allowing selective lighting of individual lamps. The front bumper incorporates a skid plate and horizontally expanded air ducts. Newly designed 19-inch dark hyper silver wheels are also installed. At the rear, the turn signals previously located on the bumper have been integrated into the rear combination lamps. The shape of the auxiliary brake light (HMSL) on the rear spoiler has been simplified into a straight line.
Inside, a 27-inch integrated wide display combining the instrument cluster and infotainment system has been installed. Climate control can also be operated via touch. Additionally, features such as a mood lamp extending from the upper door trim to the center fascia, a crystal design electronic shift dial (SBW), a horn cover bearing the new Genesis emblem, and a new two-tone steering wheel color have been applied.
The exterior color lineup has expanded to a total of 12 with the addition of 'Ceres Blue' (glossy/matte). The interior offers five basic colors and four exclusive colors for the sports package.
A 'Sports Package' that embodies a more dynamic appearance has also been prepared. The front air intake has been expanded, and two types of exclusive wheels (19 and 21 inches) are applied. The rear features a dark chrome rear diffuser and muffler tips. Inside, a dedicated D-cut steering wheel and orange-colored seat belts and stitching are included.
Driving performance has also been improved. An Auto Terrain Mode that automatically selects the optimal driving mode by assessing the road surface in real time has been added. Hydro bushings, previously applied to the front suspension, have now been added to the rear suspension as well. A 4P monoblock caliper is also standard equipment.
When opting for the Bang & Olufsen high-resolution sound system, the active noise control technology ANC-R enables a quieter driving experience.
Other new features include an interior fingerprint authentication system, ultraviolet sterilization for the console armrest storage compartment, passenger seat posture memory system, hands-on detection (HOD) steering wheel, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), front/side/rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-F/S/R), Built-in Cam 2, and a digital center mirror.
The facelifted GV70 is offered with two engine lineups: a 2.5 turbo gasoline and a 3.5 turbo gasoline. Both 2WD and AWD models are available across all engine options.
The sales prices are ▲2.5 gasoline turbo at 53.8 million KRW ▲3.5 gasoline turbo at 59.3 million KRW. The GV70 Sports Package prices for 2WD are ▲2.5 gasoline turbo at 56.95 million KRW ▲3.5 gasoline turbo at 62.65 million KRW.
Alongside the launch, exclusive accessories will be introduced, including ▲21-inch matte black lightweight forged wheels (exclusive to the Sports Package) ▲vehicle protection film ▲side steps ▲protection mat package ▲built-in air purifier, totaling five items.
The new GV70 can be seen in person at the special exhibition "GV70. Every Moment Becomes Style," held from the 18th to the 26th on the 4th floor and rooftop of Genesis Suji in Gyeonggi Province.
