Jobs are the best welfare. Especially as the economic downturn continues long-term, creating jobs for youth and low-income groups is the most urgent task.

Seoul's Yangcheon, Gwangjin, and Guro districts have taken steps to provide jobs for their residents.

Yangcheon-gu operates employment training programs linked with specialized educational institutions in four fields: internet media, advanced science, safety environment, and more, to strengthen the employment capabilities of local youth, recruiting 85 participants starting this month.

The training covers four main areas: ▲ Data Labeler Training and Employment Course ▲ Digital Marketing Advertising Video Content Production Personnel Training Course ▲ Security Screening Personnel Training and Employment Course ▲ Youth Employment Bakery Academy.

The advanced science and technology field training, “Data Labeler Training and Employment Course,” is provided by the Korea HRD Enterprise Association (a nonprofit) for 25 students, offering a total of 156 hours of education including essential AI data labeling job training and practical projects.

The internet, media, and cultural arts field training, “Digital Marketing Advertising Video Content Production Personnel Training Course,” is suitable for youth aspiring to become digital content creators or enter the media sector. The Korea Digital Convergence Association (a nonprofit) provides 320 hours of education including video media content production and company-linked projects, recruiting 20 participants.

The safety field training, “Security Screening Personnel Training and Employment Course,” aims to train professional security screening personnel required by national critical facilities and companies. Students receive 150 hours of practical security screening training at Asia Aviation Vocational School.

The “Youth Employment Bakery Academy” for acquiring national technical qualifications in baking and pastry is offered by the Korea Confectionery Vocational School, providing a total of 328 hours of education covering baking theory and practice, pastry theory and practice, and advanced pastry theory and practice.

Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “This training program is a customized education that considers both youth job demand and the job skills required by companies. We will fully support the development of outstanding professionals needed by the industry in these fields through this training.”

Gwangjin-gu will hold the “Gwangjin-gu Reemployment Special Lecture & Ilgu Day” from 1 PM on the 21st to ease job concerns of middle-aged job seekers.

This “Ilgu Day (Job Seeking Day)” focuses on reemployment for middle-aged people facing difficulties in finding jobs. It is designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and various job information, and companies with chances to hire excellent personnel.

Lee Nanyoung, CEO of The Use Life Research Institute, will give a special lecture on employment trends and job search strategies to provide time for career exploration. Following this, six recruiting companies will conduct one-on-one job interviews.

Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I hope this event helps middle-aged people with reemployment and becomes a satisfying opportunity for both job seekers and hiring companies. We will also do our best to discover jobs and strengthen residents’ employment capabilities in cooperation with job-related organizations.”

Meanwhile, Seoul autonomous districts including Gangbuk-gu are recruiting participants for the second half of the year’s Donghaeng Jobs and Community Jobs programs.

Gangbuk-gu is recruiting participants for the “2024 Second Half Public Job Project” from the 10th to the 17th. The total number of participants in Gangbuk-gu for this project is 365, including 348 for the Seoul Donghaeng Job Project and 17 for the Community Job Project.
