Yangcheon-gu Recruits 85 Youth Trainees for AI Data Labeler Training Program

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) is operating employment education programs linked with specialized educational institutions in four fields: internet media, advanced science, and safety environment, to strengthen the employment capabilities of local youth, and is recruiting 85 participants starting this month.

Previously, the district selected this year's vocational education courses by reflecting the results of a demand survey on 35 vocational education courses in six fields conducted last year with 372 local youths, to operate employment education programs that young people genuinely want.

The education covers four fields: ▲ Data Labeler Training and Employment Course ▲ Digital Marketing Advertising Video Content Production Personnel Training Course ▲ Security Screening Personnel Training and Employment Course ▲ Youth Employment Bakery Academy. The district plans to provide high-quality free lectures by field to participants and increase employment competitiveness through follow-up management such as linking with employment institutions in related fields.

The advanced science and technology field education, "Data Labeler Training and Employment Course," is provided by the Korea HRD Enterprise Association (a nonprofit organization), offering a total of 156 hours of education including essential data labeling job training and practical projects for AI implementation to 25 students.

The internet, media, and cultural arts field "Digital Marketing Advertising Video Content Production Personnel Training Course" is suitable for youth aspiring to become digital content creators or start careers in the media field. The Korea Digital Convergence Association (a nonprofit organization) provides a total of 320 hours of education including video media content production and corporate-linked projects, with 20 participants being recruited.

The safety field "Security Screening Personnel Training and Employment Course" trains specialized security screening personnel required by national critical facilities and companies. Students receive 150 hours of education including security screening practical training at Asia Aviation Vocational School.

The "Youth Employment Bakery Academy" for acquiring national technical qualifications in baking and pastry is provided by the Korea Confectionery Vocational School, offering a total of 328 hours of education including baking theory and practice, pastry theory and practice, and advanced pastry theory and practice courses.

Eligible participants are Yangcheon-gu youth aged 19 to 39 who are currently unemployed or, even if enrolled in employment insurance, are short-term workers for less than three months or working less than 26 hours per week, or public workers, and who will actively pursue employment or start a business after completing the education. Detailed information such as recruitment periods and application methods for each program can be found on the district office website.

First implemented in 2017, the "Youth Employment Education Program" is a customized job project for youth that supports linking employment after completing a prescribed education course for a certain period. Over the past seven years, the district has operated various employment linkage programs in fields such as airport security screening specialist training, youth cooking school courses, preliminary social worker practical training, and web developer training. So far, a total of 129 graduates have been produced, with 86 successfully employed, showing a 67% employment rate.
