Asiana Airlines is recruiting new employees this year.
According to the aviation industry on the 7th, Asiana Airlines will hire double-digit numbers of new employees in the fields of airport service, sales service, general positions, and flight operations management.
This is the first time the company has recruited new employees in five years since the second half of 2019. It is interpreted as a result of a shortage of on-site personnel due to the recovery of passenger demand after the endemic phase.
In recent years, Asiana Airlines experienced a significant outflow of personnel due to the impact of COVID-19 and the push for corporate integration with Korean Air, which led to an increase in resignations. The number of employees decreased by 1,110 (12.1%) over four years, from 9,155 at the end of 2019 to 8,045 at the end of last year.
However, flight and cabin crew members were not included in this new recruitment. Previously, cabin crew were also excluded from the experienced hires that began last month.
In relation to the corporate merger between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, discussions on the sale of Asiana Airlines' cargo business are scheduled at the board meeting on the 2nd. An Asiana Airlines aircraft is taking off at Gimpo Airport in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Photo by Jinhyung Kang aymsdream@
