The Daegu Regional Tax Office (Commissioner Yoon Jong-geon) announced on the 7th that it will unilaterally extend the deadline for filing comprehensive income tax by three months until September 2 for market tenants facing difficulties due to the closure of the Daegu Livestock Wholesale Market.
Taxpayers with comprehensive income last year are required to file and pay comprehensive income tax by the 31st of this month (those subject to faithful reporting confirmation by July 1). However, taxpayers whose business locations are within the Daegu Livestock Wholesale Market, which was closed on April 1, will have their payment deadlines extended ex officio without needing to apply.
Additionally, if the tax amount to be paid exceeds 10 million won, partial installment payments are allowed, and the deadline for paying the installment amount is also extended until November 4. Furthermore, through cooperation with Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province, the deadline for paying individual local income tax will also be extended equally without a separate application for those subject to the ex officio extension of the comprehensive income tax payment deadline.
The Daegu Regional Tax Office stated, “We will continue to provide proactive and preemptive tax support to help taxpayers facing business difficulties to normalize their operations as soon as possible.”
