Gyeonggi-do Offers 'One-Month Rural Experience' for Baby Boomers... Applications Open from the 7th Gyeonggi-do Baby Boomer Generation Rural One-Month Experience Guide Poster

Gyeonggi Province is recruiting the baby boomer generation to participate in a one-month rural experience program.

The Gyeonggi Province Return-to-Farming and Rural Support Center (Gyeonggi Province Agriculture and Fisheries Promotion Agency) announced that it will begin recruiting participants for the "Baby Boomer One-Month Rural Experience" starting from the 7th.

The program targets baby boomers (born between 1955 and 1974) living in urban areas who wish to live in their desired rural area for one month before relocating, and who want to engage in farming practice and interact with local residents. Residents of the same city or county as the operating village are not eligible to participate, and preference is given to residents of Gyeonggi Province.

The villages participating in the program are ▲ Chiljungseong Village in Paju City ▲ Seolgok Otsam Village in Gapyeong County ▲ Sansuyu Flower Village in Yangpyeong County ▲ Narutbae Village in Yeoncheon County. Accommodation and educational programs are provided free of charge.

Applications are open until the 20th, and through screening, 3 to 6 teams per village, totaling 20 teams, will be selected to participate in a one-month experience between June 1 and July 24. Each team consists of 1 to 2 people, and if there are 2 members, they must be spouses or family members.

Those interested in participating can visit the Gyeonggi Shared Service, Gyeonggi Province Agriculture and Fisheries Promotion Agency, or Gyeonggi Province Return-to-Farming and Rural Support Center websites to check the announcement and submit the application form and required documents via email to the person in charge at sjsk8707@gafi.or.kr.

Gong Jeong-sik, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Agriculture, Fisheries and Life Sciences Bureau, stated, "We hope that the baby boomer generation in urban areas can contribute to stable settlement in Gyeonggi Province’s rural areas and to the revitalization of rural communities through this one-month rural experience."
