Kkanbu Chicken Seokchonhosu Branch Donates Total Sales of 16,315,400 KRW During Cherry Blossom Festival
Seed Money for Supporting Low-Income Children and Youth Tuition Fees and Regional Coexistence
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that Kanbu Chicken, located on Seokchonhosu-ro, donated the entire sales amount of 16,315,400 KRW earned during the 'Hosoo Cherry Blossom Festival (3.27.~3.31.)' held last March to low-income children and adolescents in the area.
This is a case where the Hosoo Cherry Blossom Festival not only revitalized the surrounding commercial district but also led to a virtuous cycle of regional coexistence.
The Seokchonhosu Cherry Blossom Festival is a representative local festival of Songpa-gu. Visitors to the festival continue their visits to nearby areas such as Songridan-gil, Hosudan-gil, and Bangi-dong Food Alley, contributing to the economic revitalization of the surrounding region.
In particular, this donation was initiated by Kanbu Chicken Seokchonhosu Branch (CEO Kim Seung-il), which decided to donate all sales during the festival period, taking advantage of the increased sales effect on the surrounding commercial district due to the 'Hosoo Cherry Blossom Festival,' expressing their intention to support vulnerable children and adolescents in Songpa-gu for regional coexistence.
A representative of the sponsoring company said, "We heard from nearby merchants to prepare enough ingredients during the cherry blossom festival period and prepared them with some skepticism, but we were surprised by the huge crowd that actually visited during the festival," adding, "We decided to give back to the community with gratitude to Songpa-gu, which organized the festival."
An official from the district stated that, following the sponsor's intention, "We hope this will provide practical help to children struggling in difficult family environments," and plans to support low-income children and adolescents in the area who cannot receive desired education due to financial burdens through a 'Tuition Fee Exemption Project.'
Meanwhile, the district has been accepting regular donations since this year through the Sarangui Yeolmae Songpa Sharing Network. To encourage active participation, the Songpa-gu website operates a 'Donor Hall of Fame' section, and Kanbu Chicken Seokchonhosu Branch will be registered as the first member of the Sharing Leaders (corporate donors).
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "The Hosoo Cherry Blossom Festival is very meaningful as it leads not only to the revitalization of the local economy but also to the practice of sharing for neighbors in need in the community," and added, "I hope this case will serve as a catalyst for spreading the culture of donation and regional coexistence within the community."
