Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 2024 Children's Day Festival

On the 5th at 11 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2024 Children's Day Festival' held around Nowon Station in Seoul.

For this event, the district completely closed a road section of about 550 meters from Lotte Department Store to the Full Gospel Church. This was to create a safe and enjoyable space for children to run and play.

The 7-lane road transformed into an amusement park featured various themed zones including the main stage with performances, ▲Experience Yard ▲Grass Yard ▲Safety Yard ▲Bubble Party Zone, providing a rich variety of sights and events.

The district prepared tents in case of rain to ensure that performances and experience programs could be provided smoothly for the many children celebrating Children's Day, which comes only once a year.

Despite the bad weather, children holding their parents' hands enjoyed their time full of excitement. Popular characters such as Robocar Poli and Carry and Friends performed, and unique experience programs like face painting, nail art, and pottery workshops brought joy to the children.

On the day of the event, the district thoroughly inspected the safety of facilities in advance due to forecasts of rain and gusts, and put special effort into safety management by training and deploying safety and operation personnel.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "It is regrettable that we could not operate the play facilities prepared for the children due to the sudden rain," and added, "We thank the residents who visited despite the bad weather, and we will prepare a variety of enjoyable and rich experiences that will bring smiles to the faces of children on next year’s Children's Day."
