Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the ‘Red, Yellow, Blue, Bloom Your Dreams!’ Children’s Festival on the morning of the 4th, a day before Children’s Day, at Yanghwajin Historical Park and the Sky Road area.
Celebrating its 14th year, this children’s festival was held under the theme ‘Red, Yellow, Blue, Bloom Your Dreams!’ with the hope that children would nurture their dreams amidst red flowers, yellow butterflies, and the blue sky.
The festival, which kicked off energetically with a preliminary performance and the ‘Mapo Dream Nuri Group’ parade, was attended by Mapo’s aspiring children, their families, and local residents to commemorate Children’s Day and create precious memories together.
As the parade group started from Hapjeong Station, passed through the Sky Road, and arrived at Yanghwajin Historical Park, the official opening ceremony began.
At the opening ceremony, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said to the children, the main protagonists of the festival, “We held the festival on the lawn so that you can run and play freely under the blue sky without getting hurt, at least for today,” adding, “I sincerely hope that all our children, the future leaders, grow up healthy and strong, and that they achieve their desired dreams.”
Following this, at the Mapo i (Ai) Drawing and Video Contest awards ceremony, Mayor Park Gang-su presented awards to the winning children and offered words of encouragement.
The children participating in the festival enjoyed various experiences and activities such as the ‘Pinkfong’ dance party performance, smart robot experience, Yanghwajin history mission program, and family sports games.
