Pianist Lim Yoon-chan will hold a solo recital at Bucheon Art Center on June 17.
Lim Yoon-chan released his new album last month titled 'Chopin: Etudes' and plans to return to Korea next month to embark on a nationwide tour.
At the Bucheon Art Center concert, Lim Yoon-chan will perform pieces by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, and Mussorgsky. The first pieces will be two of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, "Sweet Remembrance" and "Rain." He will then perform the complete set of Tchaikovsky's "The Seasons."
In the second half, he will perform Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition." This piece was inspired by an exhibition of works by Mussorgsky's friend Hartmann, who was an architect and painter, and is filled with the distinctive folk elements characteristic of Russian music.
Tickets will be available for reservation starting at 4 p.m. on the 9th through the Bucheon Art Center website, Ticketlink, Wemakeprice, and Yes24 websites.
Meanwhile, Bucheon Art Center will celebrate its first anniversary on the 19th. To mark the occasion, a four-day anniversary festival titled "RE : wake" will be held from the 16th.
The festival will feature pianist Baek Gun-woo's first Mozart solo recital, as well as performances by conductor Adriel Kim, violinist Han Soo-jin, conductor Kim Sun-wook, pianist Jung Kyu-bin, and cellist Choi Ha-young.
