Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, participated in the Children's Day commemorative event held at Changwon High School on the 4th and delivered a message of dreams and hope to the children.
The event was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Changwon High School playground and gymnasium, with about 14,000 participants including elementary, middle, and high school students from the region, parents, and volunteers. Under the theme "Living on Dreams," various experience booths such as face painting, balloon art, archery, and dart throwing, as well as an air bounce zone and food stalls, were grandly opened.
The "Living on Dreams" Children's Day commemorative event, where everyone can share moments of happiness while experiencing diverse cultures and play, has been held annually since 2016, organized by the Vision Nuri Cultural Center of Myeonggok Church, and this year marks its 9th anniversary.
Mayor Hong said, "On the occasion of the 102nd Children's Day, I would like to express my gratitude to the Vision Nuri Cultural Center officials who prepared the event so that the whole family can create wonderful memories. Changwon City will also do its best to help children, the future leaders, freely pursue their dreams and grow into healthy members of society."
Meanwhile, Changwon Special City received UNICEF Child-Friendly City certification in 2021 and is discovering and promoting various child-friendly projects to create a better living environment for children.
